Slowing down in training, ramping up in life!

September has come and gone, but fall hasn’t quite hit us yet.

I have enjoyed the warm weather over the last month while I spent more time with friends and had a larger emphasis on my professional career than athletic. If you wait until the very end, I have some huge news to share!

What’s Happening?

Bachelor/Bachelorette Party in Minnesota

To open the month up, Audrey and I had a joint bachelor/bachelorette party in Minnesota. We had a blast with our wedding party and local friends. Activities included jeopardy about me and Audrey's relationship, a boat cruise on Lake Minnetonka, the men getting fitted for our suits, a visit to the legendary MN state fair and many shenanigans in between!

Site visits in Pittsburgh

I got the opportunity through my job to visit a few job sites in Pittsburgh. The pools were in various states of construction so it was informative to see what each phase looks like. I love seeing the drawings become a reality and can't wait until a project I work on gets to that stage!

Branding Workshop with Cejih

Cejih and I went out to the University of Tennessee to provide the university swim and dive team the keys to successful personal branding and insights into how they can best market themselves. I went through the CG Sports Brand Camp a few years ago and it was wonderful watching it from the other side and providing my perspective on the process. We also had a super fun activity where we split up into groups to discuss a fake partnership... things got a little heated at the negotiating table.

Taking it easier in training

With everything going on in my life, I took a step back in training to ease into the season. A lighter training load has allowed me to give more energy into other facets of my life and I am interested to see how my body will respond to it when I race at the Swimming World Cup. My goal is to officially ramp things up after the new year.

Looking Ahead

Throughout October, I will be competing at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup!

The three stops are Carmel, IN Oct 10-12, Westmont, IL Oct 17-19 and Toronto, ON Oct 23-25. I will be road-tripping the whole thing with the camper trailer. After the Toronto stop, Audrey and I will take the scenic route home as we drive around the great lakes and come back down through Duluth, MN.

🎉 Big News: Audrey and I just got married on October 5th! 🎉
